All good! Have an '01 HD2500 with 8.1 and Allison. Bought it new and now has 100k miles with only a couple of issues. Cam sensor and O2 sensor. It won't set any mileage records (about 10 in town and 14 highway) but it's a great tow-er. Pulled a 30' 5th wheel with a 16' utitilty trailer with quads without complaint or overheat. Only time I ever saw the temp guage go up was this past weekend (116*) with A/C on and loading boat at ramp. Bottom line is I always wished I could have afforded the Duramax but after 6 years, I'd do it again!

Same here. 100K miles.
Orig brakes with 80% left on them too.
12.9 on the road, 10 in the city.
If it hard starts, it's a bad check valve in the fuel pump.
Been great.
Just a crank posit sensor.
If the Alli tranny runs too hot, ya usually have too much fluid in it.
We'd buy it again, but the 8.1 is no longer available.
So,, when the time comes perhaps a fresh NEW 8.1 engine instead.

Best truck we ever owned. Plenty of power and only two issues. Crankshaft position sensor and alternator. 100,000 miles when we traded it in great truck. Mike:D
