Great kickoff for 4th vacation...

...I get to my place in Palm Springs to find some **** has been living here! :mad:
A real piece of work, my a/c is down to 65, theres about half a dozen credit cards with different names, check books in different names, and the master is lined with clothes all neat on hangers!! Man, worst part about the ordeal is Cat City PD show and theres basically nothing for them to do but file a tresspassing report. Last I was here was father's day weekend...I guess I'm thankful that there is absolutely no damage nothing was stolen or vandalized. Great start though with a car full of kids and family...:eek:

:mad: i had that happen to one of my customers,his house was vacant and between renters . i called the customer to verify if anyone was suppose to be at his rental. called the cops, went in side found the classifieds of houses for sale in the area . funny part was he circled the ones he thought would be a good fit for him ( pool , furnished ect,. ) never caught the guy .
at least he didnt thrash your place . it could have been worse

that really sucks. and to know the police cant do much is even worse. now if you would have went to the butcher shop, got a bunch of pigs blood and made it look like a crime scene, youd have detectives and csi working it over. i bet the idiot left all sorts of finger prints on them credit cards.

..definitely could have walked into something way worse, it is a lesson learned. The idea of putting in a permanent tennant we were already considering is most likely gonna happen for sure now. I guess it could have been a bum or some vandals instead of a clean criminal probably lifting wallets at the casinos.
..yeah, butchers blood or a crap load of al quada literature would have changed things :D

Could have been worse. You could have had a squatter. That sucks. I would be pissed...Do the neatly hung clothes fit??? Bonus man!!! Look for jewelry left behind to pay the unpaid rent:D :D

That really does suck. (Unfortunately you're going to get mad all over again when you get the electric bill -- A/C to 65 degrees, what a piece of work.)

I would call your electric company and let them know that its a vacation house and some one broke in and was living there since fathers day, and see if they will give you a credit since you have a police report.

He did have a squatter... they just didn't tear the place up...
Good luck with the power company. A police report will help, but the electricty was used through an active account and metered (i.e. it wasn't being stollen through a bypassed meter or what not). I doubt they'll reduce anything.
