Ok Ford guys don't start....:D :D :D
I'm in havasu for another week and have been having the 04 Suburban heat up on me when towing the boat from the ramp to the house. Granted it is 120 here right now I have never had this problem before. I also don't have a problem other than when I tow.
My Coolant Is Hot message comes on and I see a spike in the engine temp and the transmission temp.
I know there is a dealership out here but was hoping I would not have to bend over that far to get it repaired.
Any locals use anyone else out here??? Thanks in Advance

Rick Clark's Auto is my favorite. Not open on Saturdays though. His number is 453-3873. He's down Industrial at corner by Mexican resturant just past Absolute Marine.

sounds like it's a simple fan clutch, they tend to wear out quickly on cars with heavy highway use..what is your burb...1500,2500,3500? get then fan clutch for the next weight up from what your burb is..(if 1500 then get 2500 fan clutch) if you intend to use it to tow in Havasu Heat...it's simple to change 1/2 open end wrench and (4) bolts later your done

Simple fix. Just stay on the lake longer until it cools down a little. Win, win. :D

If the fan is turning fast and makes a loud sound at 3K rpm or so, then fan clutch is ok. I suspect a stuck thermostat if it overheats as soon as you begin to pull a load. Also if you have A/C and an electric fan, see if the fan near the radiator comes on when the A/C is on, if not then most likely a bad sensor for the fan.
