Does anyone know what dmv will do if you own a trailer that was manufactured several years ago yet never registered. Will California hit you with any type of penalty or back due fees?

Trailer registration is really cheap, even if you do have to pay back fees it won't hurt.
But I think if its never been registered before it would not show up as delinquent in their system.....

They will only penalize you if you had a lapse in keeping the registration to date. You shouldn't get fined for a first time registration. Besides, with the new Permanent Trailer registration, you don't even have to worry about a yearly registration renewal.
