I was cleaning my exhaust tips the other day and noticed that there used to be silicon around the flange where they meet the transom. It looks like it's dried up and gone. I've never noticed any leaks. Should I re-seal it and if so what type of silicon or RTV should I use?

3m 4200 fast cure
Its re-movable and approved for BELOW water line.
Don't use 3m 5200 as you won't ever get your exhaust tips off again.

I am boat tech and my favorite sealant is a product called " LifeSeal ".
It is suitable for above or below the waterline.
I use it for pretty much everything from mounting outboards to through hull fittings to filling in the gaps when installing radar arches.
Easy to apply, easy to clean, cures in 24hrs.
