I have Just Bought a 1988 22' Pachanga it has 454. I'am looking for some perfomance tips for this boat. What type of props to use, basically any thing to get the most out of it. How would you rate this boat? We boat in Eastern Washington on Lake Roosevelt.

I used to have a blue '89. One of my favorite boats ever. Great hull design. Dam thing would haul azz  Mine had a 454 with an alpha drive.

River otter & Spectras Only, Thanks for the replies. I hope to here from Bubbagump soon. Spectras only What do mean too Slow? We were told the boat would do around 62 with a 21 pitch clever prop. The boat is basically stock except for a Alumnium intake and a holley 870 carb.

That "Too slow" comment and graphic is in his signature, not part of his response to you. :)
BTW, sorry for dumping on your thread in the Sandbar.
Enjoy the new boat. :)

Mine ran 73MPH and was box stock. Course we didn't have GPS back then so I guess my 73 mph was BSS. Sure felt fast thought :D . BTW... Best cruising boat I have ever owned. 3,000 rpms = 52 mph (BSS again not GPS :p )

Talked with bubba today and got some great info. Sounds like for now I will just have to take good care of the Alpha 1 and the boat should run real good. Looking forward to some warmer wheather so we can put it through the test. If anyone would like to donate to the P-22 Buildup Please feel free. Bubba suggest that going with a supercharged 383 & bravo is going make this boat perform the best Possiably Around $12,000 So Please don't hesitate to help this dog out. see ya at the lake. :rollside:

Pachangas must have been very popular in Washington. Most that I see for sale on the internet are in Washington.
