Where to get in OC? I tried Mcfadden Dale, no dice. Needs to be fit over a 3 inch shaft.

Impeller nut?
Last time I needed one that size, I had to cut a short socket across the middle and welded in an extension... couldn't find a deep one that day, and it held up under the impact wrench.

Try Lowes or Home Depot. I have seen them there in the past.

Impeller nut. Need to take the suction housing to powder coat. I might just go up to rex and grab one.

Do you have a Sears out there?
I doubt you will find a socket off the shelf thats deep enough. I cut mine and welded in a piece of pipe as suggested above.
Cut the nut off and order a new nut save your self all the running around.

That would work except Id still need to get the socket so I could torque the new one on.

Go to MPD in Costa Mesa with the boat ready to pull and have him pull your nut for you today. Then, order the new socket from Rex for tomorrow and when you are ready to install, you will have your socket already.
I do know one person with one in Anaheim, but he wouldn't lend it out I don't think.

I drove around looking for a socket for half the day, no luck.... I ended up going to MPD and let them do it. Rex has the tool...
