Did a two night stay in Emerald Bay, Tahoe. Took a few pic's at the tea house on Fannette Island. The little boat with the tower was taking pictures of a couple of chicks in a open bow boat for some type of magazine martini add.

A few Sick Tahoe wooden Boats. This one is a 1960's Riva Aquarama One of my Fav's. I like the million dollar houses too

This boat is very cool........ "The Thunderbird"
Built for the late Millionaire/Playboy "George Whittell" in 1940. The boat was constructed of double planked maghogany/brushed stainless. It was later bought by the late casino owner "Bill Harrah". Bill had the 550hp twin engines changed to twin Allison V-12 Aircraft Engines rated at 1000hp each. Cost to build in todays money is 3.3 million. This boat is something to see and hear.

That riva was parked/floating here at the "Bellagio" hotel ,LAKE when it opened. Steve Wynn owned it. It was later shipped up to his Tahoe house. Has a pair of 502's I was taking care of the motor/maint when it was on the lake. Ran them every week for a 1/2 hr. the boat took a beating from the lake water. I guess 22 million gallons of "pool treated" water flying around every day really made it hard for the wood:eek: .
Nice boats

we are gonna be up there next summer. my sis-in-law is gettin married up there, and my wife's family has a house up there in the keys that we're gonna stay in. I was wondering about the high altitude; will I have to adjust the carb on the boat?

Great pictures. I spent all my summer and winter vacations at Tahoe back in the mid 50s on. My uncles were some of the first masonry contractors up there. It sure has changed over the years, but what hasn't?:)

This boat did a few speed runs while we were at the dock. It's over 40 ft long. and skinny the three people were cramped. It Looked like it halled the mail. Check out the air scoop

Whats the water temp like? Great pics.
The month of Mayand June you can get in the water for a little while
July and August you can enjoy a good swim at a cool 63-68 degrees
After Sept 15th everything starts to change real fast
Tahoe temps "deep water" stay a cool 35-38 degrees. year round:eek:

I had no idea that the Riva boat like this one is worth so much money. I thought around 250k no it's much more like 350k to 400k:jawdrop:
