Been working on a swing away tail gate/ spare tire holder for my little Toyota buzz bomber. Similar to the http://www.tiregate.com product but with some added strength. Just about done and need to have the thing powdercoated gloss black. The whole thing is bolt on including the frame structure and would be brought in peices.
Anybody on here do powdercoat? Preferrably in the IE. How much do you think I am looking at for the work? Here are a few pictues for reference.
Thanks,
Mike

I had R&R in Riverside do my Trailer a couple years back. Tons of colors, good service. Very Reasonable. Rob Rose 951-738-1516. I've seen a lot of Embee work, and they're very good if you can make the drive.

not to highjack but..
Is it more economical to powder coat one big piece (an assembly) or more little pieces (individual components)? For example, is it more expensive to powder coat one 5 foot section of 2" tubing, or five 1 foot section of 2" tubing (same amount and surface area of material either way).
Got lots of buggy parts to coat this winter and trying to plan ahead.
Thanks!

xtrmwakeborder - the rims will run $60.00ea.. - 2 day turnaround at the most.
h2o - it doesn't really matter if it is tubing. we price that type of work by the foot. as for buggie parts, we usually price per car and color. if you want an exact quote just fax / e-mail me some pictures with the color you want and i can price it for you. ph. 714-546-6907 fax 714-546-6979

Santa Ana is not a bad drive at all and I will be in touch as soon as the fab work is finished.
By the way, I think my dad and grandfathers old family business used to use you guys for some of their aerospace parts that needed coating. I remember seeing the Embee name around the shop years ago. Ball Glide Products in Anaheim ring any bells?
Thanks!

sure does. they are a good customer of ours. if you still have any ties there, we can pick up and drop off the bumper at ball glide.

They sold to a company by the name of Kapco about 6 ears ago. Not sure if they are still operating the Anaheim location as Ball Glide Products but no family ties to the company any longer. Any family that was part of the business were forced out by Kapco politics and BS about a year after the sale.
Grandfathers name was John Ehrle. Fathers name was the same but all business associates know him as J.R.

sorry to hear that. they still send us a lot of work under the ball glide name. just thought it would save you from the wonderful 91 fwy.

Does that include getting the chrome off?

if the chrome is in okay shape it does not need to be removed. chrome stripping usually runs between $20-$30 ea., but it's the time that's the killer. 1 - 2 weeks at best.

Sorry, barely enough time to make my own. Any qualified fabricator should be able to do one up for you. I am by no means qualified
