Can't get into the Cottonwood Cove Motel for months.
I'm told that the closest motel alternative is the El Ray Hotel in Searchlight. Anyone been? Is it acceptable or a roach?
Thanks!

El Ray is cool . But DO NOT stay at the KAY MOTEL.
It is not someplace you ever wanna stay. Just really dirty and scary.
Stayed there once when we couldnt get into the El Ray. And it was only one night it was pretty disgusting.:(

You have to stay at the El Ray just to say you stayed there.
It is what it is...
And if your in a group it's cool to sit outside the rooms at night and hang out.

Went and gambled in Searchlight one time while at CC. There were toothless hookers around that area. It might have been the trailer park but it was pretty funny to see. Just stay in Laughlin and drive back/forth.

Literally in the parking lots. It might have been the trailer park area though. It was a while ago.
There was this huge non-humorous guy at our blackjack table and he looked like maybe he would just as well kill you as speak to you. I couldn't believe when my buddy called him "Bubba" at the table. After that the guy actually started laughing and having some fun. For a minute there I was wondering how we were going to control this animal when he started going off.....lol

As Pussywhippled states - It is what it is.... I stay there once or twice a year, (with my wife and kids) I'm happy with it, and they don't mind it either. It's only a place to sleep, we are at the lake all day and it's cheap. 2 free bags of ice per day, per room.
The only real place besides McD's to eat is the Nugget - pretty good food there. Neither place is for prissy people, don't expect too much and you will be happy.
