Deception,GREAT BOATS (I own one ok). They where built by Felt Ind. in Monmouth Ill. about thirty miles from me.I believe yours must be one of the last as they went out of bizz about 92.I own a '86 2350 condor w/460 FORD 475 hp,OMC KING COBRA.They are a heavy boat, mine is 4500+ a lot of H.P. = a little speed. The hull design was real good for there era.most 23-24 deg.that Ive seen.Weve done a lot of work to mine to liten it up.Put on a set of EMI alum. exhaust, removed the water circulation pump, built a lite wt. fiberglass engine cover etc.etc...My boat now runs out at a true 68 mph @ 4700 with 1.43:1 gears and a 14.75x25 lightening prop.Would like to see a pic of yours, better yet lets locate some more & have a reggatta(better late than never)I'll supply the river! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

Hey Not Guilty, glade to see someone else thinks like I do. I'm real happy with my rig.I'love to send you some pictures but I'm just getting into this computer thing. Coming out of the stone age I guess.I've got about 440 hours on my boat and have'nt had any problems that I did't cause myself, rocks raise hell with the lower unit.Cought a plastic bag on the drive and took out the sea pump. I'm the second owner and have had it for five years. It had after market headers,Bennet tabs and a killer stero on it when I got it. since then I've added a Jacobs ignition, reworked the carb and added a 1" spacer. I'm running a Merc. Mirage 23" prop reworked by Mazco. I'll run between 62-65 with my wife and I with a half or more tank of gas. That is how the boat gotI it"s name, Deception. Not to many people would think a big ,heavy rig could run this good.I've also change the grafic on the sides, looks wild.I do most of my boating on lake Winnabago and surounding lakes. Love to get a Mach 1 group together, if not in person, than by mail or e-mail. Hope to hear fronyou again.

deception, how many rpm, sounds like your set-up is working very well.Still working the bugs out of mine after all the last mods.Dont think summer will be long enough.Planning to pull engine this winter & do some bottom re-work(oiling,crank mod, different pump&pan)then change intake & bigger carb,5000 rpm maybe http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif .Would like to know the X-deminsion they have your merc. at.Mine was built originally with a merc but we built it from a bare hull. The cut-out for merc & omc are the same so we didnt do any glass work to adapt the cobra, but I am sure the vertical distance is different on the two.If our hulls are as close as I presume, your x-dim should tell me how close mine is to intended stock. All other machs in my area are 28 ft+ or outboards.Looking forward to getting pics.,I e-mailed adress ,send one of mine back at return add.Maybe some others will read this bring more Machs out for reggatta http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif HHHHMMMM-add from office-max,flatbed scanner printer combo 499.00 HHHMMMMMMM.Gotta go do some sweet-talking http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif ...........
