Ok - looks like the first post I put up is jacked up for some reason. What would be the best way to send some friends from San Diego to Parker (and to arrive in parker :). I go the 10 - I'm thinking I8 then past glamis - but I really have not made that run in 10 years +.
Thanks for any help!

Take the 10 to Desert Center, then 171 into Parker

8 East past El Centro to 111 North.
111 North to 78 in Brawley (towards Glamis)
78 to I-10 in Blythe
I-10 across the River
Take exit 1 in AZ (Ehrenberg)
North on Parker Poston (Mohave Road) to Parker.
4 hours from Point Loma to my front door, last time I came that way.

I10 is my normal route - there coming from La Mesa/SDSU area, not sure if coming up through hemet is the best, or if there is a better route.

You definetely should take the 8 east to 111 like Boatcop said.....that by far is the easiest and quickest way there.

Alan's got it, but you can skip a little traffic if you cut over and then up on some of the smaller roads instead of 111 to 78. Evan Hewes Highway I think its called....then hang a left just past that lady's RV resort.

I am going to try this way next time. I usually go 8 to the 95 just because it's easy, but thinking I will have to try this way. I am 4 hrs & 45 min from Pt Loma to Parker the way I go.

That would be a left turn off the off ramp...unless you want to go in the desert. :) And do not stop at the gas station bathrooms. :(

I've tried all kinds of different routes & by far the quickest drive is
to go thru Glamis:
(8 East, 111N, Evan Hughes Hwy E, 115N, 78N, 10E, 95 Ehrenburg/Parker)
From my place (La Mesa)...3.5 - 4 hours.

LOL, I know! As my failed memory serves, the right didn't go far till dirt! :D
But I'll get this one right! ;)
That ---"Hills Have Eyes" Station--Should be, BURNT TO THE GROUND!!---By a FD able to deal with Toxic waste!--and the owner sent to Olongapo city to suction dredge the river--With a snorkel!!! :)

Boatcop's route is great if you are in southern San Diego (south of UTC).
If you up North (Encinitas and up) take the 15N to the 10E and then Rice Road.
Takes me 4.5 to 5 hours from Carlsbad using the 15\10. 5 to 6hrs if I take Baotcops way due to traffic.

Boatcops route is right on. Takes about 4hours (or 4.5 when I'm towing) from Point Loma to Parker. One more option is to head a little further east on I-8 to Ogilby Rd, then head north to 78. About the same timing.
