Has anyone gotten those helo pics at one of these regattas? Are they worth it? How much did they cost? How fast did you have to run the boat, and for how long? Is it safe enough for passengers? Can you see the passengers, i.e, should my wife wear something bright/matching, or does it matter? Thanks!

I bought 6 8 1/2 x 11's of the boat running and a 22 x 34 of one of the group shots from the Advantage Regatta last year. The photo's are awesome. You can see everyone in the boat perfect. He probably takes around 10 photos of the boat running. I think you run around 35-40ish for about 1/4 mile or so.
He takes one from the back, a few from the side and one as he crosses the bow. The one crossing the bow is my favorite, it's a really cool angle.

I think it's worth it, I've had it done a couple times and never been disappointed. SOmetimes they're just "ok" pics, sometimes they are really cool. Particularly for a guy who has a very cool brand new Advantage X Flight to get photographed:D . Top speed for helicopter pics is usually 50mph, that way the bird isn't working so hard and they can get a bunch of different angles. I think you'll be pleased if you get it done.

Just make sure you are wearing shorts in the shot.
