This could get interesting.

The NFL reportedly is considering taking away draft picks from the New England Patriots for spying on the New York Jets in their season opener.
Citing league sources, ESPN.com is reporting that commissioner Roger Goodell has determined the Patriots violated
league rules when they videotaped defensive signals by the Jets' coaches during Sunday's 38-14 Patriots victory.
The Web site's report says Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks."
A league spokesman says the investigation is ongoing.

The new commissioner may be reconsidering taking this job in the first place at this point. If he survives this first season with it's multiple woes, he'll pass one heck of a toughness test. My fear is that once sanctions are placed by him that numerous other infractions will be brought forth in an effort to land sanctions. I"m not sure any major sport's commissioner is paid enough to be worth the crap they are dealing with nor the stuff that hasn't been brought to the forefront even yet.

Your post is cryptic at best, please give some examples.
Cryptic at best? Wow?
Start with Michael Vick and I won't even have to move on to the entire Bengal's team and . . . . well, you get the point.

He brought this on himself, IMO. You can't legislate morality in a league of young millionaires. He has players on his shit list that can't stay out past 11pm. What kind of a rule is that? You're a 22 year old millionaire and you have to check with Roger Goddell to see if you can go on a date or go to a strip club? He has not done a good job and I think eventually the owners will realize that he's going to cost them money and games lost due to his overzealousness. The NFLPA used to be the most powerful union in the world, now Art Shell has turned it into a puppet whose strings are pulled by the commissioner. The commissioner and the union are not supposed to be friends or allies, they have always and will always be diametrically opposed. The NFLPA is supposed to support the players, that what they pay their dues for and they pay PLENTY of dues.
You made my point perfectly! Tough job, I'd say you're a typical to better informed fan and you have issues with him. Don't you suppose there are millions of others that will also second-guess his actions?
On a side note, how about them Diamondbacks?

The NFL has fined New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and the team a total of $750,000 for videotaping an opponent's signals. The team also has been told to forfeit draft choices.

Pennies compared to McLaren's fine of $100 million for spying on Ferrari. :2purples:
