The Nazi house in El Monte in the late 60's and early 70's. It was on Peck Rd. just north of the Sears in El Monte. Just a little north of that paint and supply store on the west side of that street?
We've got a kid with Nazi ideals working for one of our subcontractors. That house came up in conversation. One of the guys on that crew told the kid that a nut burned the house down and shot all the bastards as they ran out of the burning house, just like the all those a$$holes used to do to anyone who wasn't like them. He said, well the guy went to jail, right? Nope, nobody could say he did anything wrong - he was only taking out the trash! All of us know that the story was BS, but the kid believed it, so maybe there's hope for him.
The kid's been quiet the last couple of days. But the house always, as a kid, piqued my interest - not the Nazism, just who would paint a house with a big ol' swastika on it?
