I think I am going to go to the Freddy Spencer school next yr and tune up my riding skills. I would like to get a 06 or newer GSXR600-750 or R6 for open track (most of my riding buddies tell me the Gixr is the only way to go:idea: ). I like the R6 better though. I would like to add the Hotbodies bodywork, better pads, slicks, lock wire and some minor suspension tuning. Just the normal stuff to make it track worthy.
Are any of you doing open track or am racing? If so, what are you riding (post pix) and how do you like it? What do you recommend?

Its great, thanks for asking. Honestly, its a rough, lake rocket as well. Its amazing how it handles the rough water.

I have an '05 Kawasaki ZZR1200, more of a sport tourer.
I'd love to get a Kawasaki 636 for the track.
Oh, if time and money weren't an issue, I'd have it all

Any time.
The 954RR is a bad ass bike.
I had a BlackBird before my ZZR. I always thought I'd Ride Red, but what's in a color?

I was an avid track rider about 4 years ago. I was always riding at Willow springs or the streets of willow with the Tom Serra classes. I rode a 98 Gixxer750 and love that machine. My wife and I will have bikes again in the near future and I would love to have another prestine 98 Gixxer750,she wants the R6. I personally the liter bikes are alot harder to ride because you are really focused on your throttle control as where on the 600's and 750's,you can pretty much smack them wide open.

Haven't ridden in years as I don't heal as quickly as I used to:( This was one of my early rides. It topped out at over 100 mph on a wood banked track.

LOL, I was just complaining about all my arthritis and I am only 34.
Thanks for the replies. I really want to stay under the 750 mark. I have even considered getting an SV650. They are awesome track bikes and cheap to fix.

Holy Cow, that thing is flashy. I sure wouldn't want to beat that up at the track. Heck the paint job alone probably cost more than my new bike will...LOL:D
