Done that drive in May. Perhaps heavy fog from Texas panhandle East.
Looooooooong trip full of FLAT once you get much E. of Phoenix.
Nothing to really avoid, except California. :D

Don't go to the 72oz Steak House. The food is good but, having a 72oz steak bubbling around in your colon makes for a BAD drive. IMLO

as far as weather goes, it can be hit and miss. We have had temps in the 70's for late Nov and we have also had snow. I would recommend taking 40 to OKC and then the turnpike I44 to Tulsa.
What brings you to Tulsa in late Nov?

You will need to keep your eyes on what the weather is doin in and around Flagstaff in November it can be bad. The elevation is over 7,000. Albq. NM. ma have some weather and TX / Ok can have high winds.

The Texas panhandle can get some fierce winds, so be aware of that. If you are towing, the Oklahoma turnpikes can get pricey, but they are generally the quickest way to go. They are geared to hit the trucker's pocketbooks more, since they do the most damage.

My son races BMX. The Grand Nationals are in Tulsa over Thanksgiving weekend. We will not be towing just driving the SUV with the kids. I was born and raised here in O.C. and never did any kind traveling as a kid so any time I leave the state I act like I am leaving the Country.

We're headed to the grands as well. What does your kid race? Mine is a 10inter, and we're racing the Race of Champions. We're actually flying out but I wanted to drive. Where are you guys staying? We're staying at the Crowne Plaza I think.

I was just in Tulsa a few weeks ago to deliver my boat to Eddie Hill, except I was coming from the east. Stop by a place called Night Trips in Tulsa to have a few drinks. :D

Oh and make sure you stop by the bank and take out enough money to pay Roy Rogers' f*cking toll!

First, it is the Will Rogers.
Second, if you are pulling a boat, you do not want to take the toll roads. They are not too bad for two axles, but since the trucks do most of the damage, they are set up to charge the heck for 4-5 axles. The natives know to take the alternate routes like 66 or 412 to Tulsa.
BTW, coming from the west, to Tulsa, it is the Turner Turnpike.
