Friday morning Kathy went downstairs to Starbucks to get our Coffee. Coming back up, she stuck her arm in the elevator door just as it was closing, and got in. There were a few people in the elevator. Among them, Ricky Phillips and Tommy Shaw.
All she could do was say, "Ahh...6 please." and then "Thanks" when she got to our floor. She was so shocked, she couldn't even blurt out: "Nice Show" or anything like that.
Talk about Star-Struck.

Unfortunately, they didn't do Mr. Roboto. :( Probably because that was pretty much Dennis DeYoung's signature song. But Gowan is a more than satisfactory replacement for Dennis. Nailing the keyboard sounds on EVERY song, and doing respectible vocals in place of Dennis.

This was one of the better shots I got. (and my favorite) JY Pickin' and Tommy Rockin'.

I stayed over in Laughlin till today. I had one of my guys escort them down. But I did drive by the park on my way home this morning around 11:00. It looks like they had a great turn-out and a lot of cars involved.
I'm sure Karl will have a report later today or tomorrow.

I'll just mention Gowan is a Canadian. Recently, I found out he wasn't born in Canada but he's a canuck, all the same.
Strange Animal was one of my favorite albums, back in the day. I've still got the vinyl.

Did they do Girls With Guns?
That was one of Tommy's solo efforts. They didn't do any of the solo stuff.
They did do "I Am The Walrus", which was Gowan's idea.

I was kind hoping Jack Blades would wander on stage and do a few tunes with Tommy.

Gowan was for fags
We rolled to:
Screams break the silence
Waking from the dead of night
Vengence is boiling
Hes returned to kill the light
Then when hes found who hes looking for
Listen in awe and youll hear him
Bark at the moon

I never really cared for Dennis DeYoung. I liked the songs that Tommy sang better.
