History of Thanksgiving in Canada
The history of Thanksgiving in Canada goes back to an English explorer, Martin Frobisher, who had been futilely attempting to find a northern passage to the Orient. He did, however, establish a settlement in Canada. In the year 1578, Frobisher held a formal ceremony in what is now the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, to give thanks for surviving the long journey. This event is widely considered to be the first Canadian Thanksgiving, and the first official Thanksgiving to occur in North America. More settlers arrived and continued the ceremonial tradition initiated by Frobisher, who was eventually knighted and had an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean in northern Canada named after him — Frobisher Bay. The innermost point of the inlet of Frobisher Bay is the location the Nunavut capital, formerly itself called Frobisher Bay and now called Iqaluit.
So basically it was an idea stolen from the US. Good on ya.

"Ya" would in this case mean "I" and "I" wasn't born yet.
Hmm ..OK ..go to START, ...All programs ..accessories..calculator then enter 1621 - 1578 then hit = .........43 right...right. If you read through the "lesson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving)" The first Canadian "thanksgiving" was 43 years earlier. So... technically (http://www.wordwebonline.com/en/TECHNICALLY)
We had it first;)

You really need to study geography better........North America is not just the US, and the US did not exsist in 1578. 1578 was the first Ceremony which was held in North America.

Also, when you started "your" Thanksgiving, was it because pilgrims came to your land by boot?

Again..I wasn't there! and technically (http://www.wordwebonline.com/en/TECHNICALLY) it would have been by a ship (http://dictionary.reference.com/help/faq/language/d18.html)
not a boot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boot)

I'm never angry. Curling (http://www.mycurling.com/Articles/curlingsheet.html) is typically done on smooth flat indoor rinks. the majority of lakes do freeze here but alot of rivers remain open and used for river boating. The big lakes like Okanogan where we do most of our boating don't always freeze over as it's to warm for that. Some of the smaller lakes do however freeze solid but make for great sleddin.
