Anyone have a Cognito lift on their truck. Looking at doing the 10-12" lift for a 08 3500. Just looking to see if anyone has anything negative about the lifts..
Thanks, KELLY

Been there done that. I wouldn’t do it again. Go 36's at best. Tires get expensive when you only get 15k miles out of them. I had a 10 inch CA super trucks on an 01 HD with 39.5's .

Not to worried about the price of tires as I wont put that many miles on this truck. Besides, they cant get any worse than these

As far as the suspension company goes, they are known for building a pretty solid suspension system for the Chevy trucks. I always keep my eye on them since they first came out, everyone who I have ever spoken with that had one of their kits had nothing bad to say. They look pretty tough and get you up to the area you want to be in. The only thing Im unsure on is how they do the steering setup. Usually thats the most crucial thing with the IFS trucks. Other than not knowing that I'd go for it, I saw alot of Cognito kits on the body style chevy over on Outlawoffroad.com's page, might check it out to see what you think. Hit me up if you have any other questions, the F650 looks sick, you need to bring it by my shop in Anaheim so I can take some pics with my two.
Thanks John

Thanks for the info. I think I will give it a try with all the steering upgrades, etc. that they offer. Its such an easy lift that if I dont like it I will pop it off. . :D :D One of these years when my shocks are done I will be driving the 650 and will have to make a trip to your shop.. Where is your shop in anaheim, cause I will be taking the 650 to garden grove (King) real soon.

I did the CST 9-11 on my '07 3500. I ended up going with 17's. I was looking at the 24.5's and I was going to have them trimmed to 24's for a 24" tire. Then we got into the adapters and the spacers. I didn't want to have both.
Anyway I run 37 12.5 17's and with the spacers they meaure in at 102". Right at the maximum legal width without permits.

It's about 9 in the front and 6 in the back. I tow a 5th wheel so I didn't want to go to tall. I used to have an 06' 2500 with the same kit, but about 3inches taller. new leafs in the rear (no blocks) and bagged.
Sorry about the size.

I have the Cognoto on mine it is the 7-9 with the green key it is sitting @ 10 right now cv's are maxed but mine never goes into 4wd. However on the steering it is by far"The BEST" out there for the chevy's, I did alot of homework before getting my lift and it was not the cheapest but i feel it is by far the best out there. They rebrace the steering in a few places as well have an idler arm and pivot arm brace and the tie rod's are fk heims and I believe moly tubing. Call Justin up there and talk to him direct and go check them out he sells direct as well I don't think you will find a better designed and built kit for the chevy...

Overview:
This tie rod system is designed to replace the factory tie rod assemblies from the ends of the drag link all the way out to the spindles. The factory outer tie rod and the inner ball and socket joint are eliminated and replaced with Heim joint rod end units. The tie rod assembly uses left and right hand threads along with a straight adjuster tube so that the perfect toe setting can be achieved. Some companies use an adjuster with a bend in it, which will prevent fine adjustment of the toe setting because the adjuster must make a full revolution to place the bend in the correct position.
Strength:
The Cognito tie rod adjuster tubes are made from 1” diameter DOM steel tubing. These replace the factory adjusters which neck down to about ½” at the threads. The factory unit is notorious for bending where the threads meet the outer tie rod. Another weak spot on the factory assembly is the inner ball and socket, which is also replaced with the Cognito unit. We use rod ends that have a ¾” shank and body, but with a 5/8” hole for the mounting points. The rod ends are Teflon lined, which means they are self lubricating. Although the rod ends are stronger than factory tie rods, they are still subject to wear and tear, and should be replaced if excessive wear and slop is present. It is always suggested not to dry steer the vehicle, which means do not try and steer the vehicle while the tires are not rolling. Dry steering introduces a lot of stress on steering components, especially when using oversized tires that have a lot of grip on the driving surface.
