Went to visit my parents in Albuquerque a coupla weeks ago. My mom has a Lexus L430, big honkin' four door thing with a big V-8. So I'm driving it and checking the computer display stuff......
The car is getting an average 24 MPG........:jawdrop:
But then I find the average speed the car is driven.......33.4 MPH :D
So this explains me in the back seat after my dad picks up me and my wife at the airport. We are merging on to Interstate 25 heading north......I'm like "Ummmmm, dad, I'm really not ready to die just yet. You think you can push it up above 35 MPH?" :D
Meanwhile trucks are whizzin' by like in Thunderdome......I'm scrunching down waiting for the impact......:D

Ya, I know. My day will come to. I hope I have the sense to hang it up before I injure or kill someone. Took my father-in-law 3 accidents before he finally hung it up for good.

It calculates speed while the car is turned on. Even in my Porsche I found that the average speed was always around 35 to 40. It takes into account all the red lights, drive thrus and anytime the car is stopped.
