Bill no longer has the Carrera. He is building another boat right now that will be over the top! :) His Carrera ran upwards of 135 and was an open bow with a THUNDERING stereo system. Bill is definitely a great guy! He was around all the time back when I worked at Carrera. His boat was amazing! No expense spared! His new boat will definitely be over the top and will give all of the big boys out in Havasu a run for their money. :)

Yep. I have seen it several times. The last time was about 2 weeks ago. It is definitely getting there. :) Bill definitely doesn't cut corners and wants everything just right.
I am sure that it will be VERY fast. :) :D

Bill Auberlen is one of the factory drivers for team BMW in the LeMans series. He is one of the best drivers on the circuit. :) I know that he has raced Porsches, Ferraris, BMW's, etc...
He is also really into boating. He built a Carrera 257 Effect X and his pleasure boat would run into the 140's. That was with full interior, standard layup, stereo, etc... If he wanted to go after the single engine stern drive reccord, I am sure that he could have gotten it no problem. He would run 140+ all motor. He had a NOS system installed on the motor, but never used it.
His Spectre is going to be over the top. I don't know how much details he wants out about the boat, but is it going to be FAST!!! All custom painted and looks AMAZING! :)

Anyone thinking that they have a fast single engine cat, I don't care what it is should use Bills old Carrera as a measuring stick. That boat was fast.
Rumor has it that he is also in the process of creating a new outdrive
in Europe that is super strong? Just what a little birdie may have aluded
to in a dream far far away in another time and place. Hope that it works!
