It is light enough that with that much power it should dune great. The motor is right in the middle so the weight distribution is good and it probably steers decent.

Buy a frame and start from there...you'll save yourself a ton of cash.

That thing is badass! it might actually give you some excitement to drive at the dunes.
I wonder what they are using for a rear end!?!? there is no way that stock diff would hold up for long with that kind of power and load under acceleration

Its got to be chain driven like a quad rear axle with a sprocket.

put a turbo busa engine in the Polaris and it would prolly mop up that Rhino.
I take it this R1 powered Rhino is no longer 4wd.

From what I have researched on the other similar builds it is like Ivan Dan said - Chain Driven and then all of them are converted to 2wd. Pretty much completely changes the classification of the whole vehicle. If I had two (rhinos) and the funds "why not"? :D

yeah but at that point why cut up a rhino? You could start from scratch and prolly make a better vehicle for less coin.

With the motor situated sideways in the car like that, crank front to back, they still have to turn that power 90degs when they get to the wheels, so there must be some type of gearbox to accomplish this.
Edit:
Here's a picture of another one with a motor swap i found, that has an aftermarket diff.

What's an R1 motor cost? Used $1500? I know alot of Rhino owners who put that much in their motor or more. If you had the tools to fabricate something like that then I think it would be worth it. Like when they put street bike motors in golf carts.... but the Fad now is Rhino's so why not

Looks like that thing would be a blast to drive...

I have been looking for rear diff swap info for a while. I have got to get rid of the solid rear diff and get a limited slip or a locker for it. too tough to drive on the street with the LT kit, and it squeals everywhere... Attracts too much attention.
Any ideas?

Ummmm:idea: I'm pretty sure it would do it just as fine with an R1 motor in it.
