you know, as much as I like to mess with HH about being a Roadie Fag I do have to say, the tour is as hardcore as it gets.
p.s. when Dave Watson hucked across the tour on his DH bike was one of the better highlights. lol

I remember doing some crazy ridges back in the day....when the only person I was responsible for was myself. I loved that stuff. I broke a frame in Mammoth when I took a wrong turn and went off a 20' ridge. I pulled the landing without crashing even thought the frame broke as only the down tube broke. I was in a race in Redlands where I shot of the top of a ridge that I got lucky on and caught the transition just perfect at the bottom...and that was close to 50'. We used to say that if you didn't come back bleeding from a ride....you weren't trying. :D

This is classic, I'll have to copy and past this post over to the downhill forum. :D
I think your 50'er might be on the www.pinkbike.com scale. A pinkbike 20' = a stanley tape measure 8' :jawdrop:

The older I get, the better I was. :D I think I have a picture of the ridge and after math of my bike from Mammoth. I wasn't ridge riding at the time, took a wrong turn on single track and came out onto a cat track.
The Redlands race was a 4 lap race that took you over a plateau. I did the drop on the first lap. I ended up first overall in that race. I think I still have the results page.
Racing, both road and mtn, was my life back when I went to San Diego State. I was managing a bike shop behind Jack Murphy and I road a LOT. Now, I can't even keep up with my 6 year old!!!

Counting Coup filled up within 3 days Dave, and I was at the HB evals when it did. We are on the waiting list, numbers 27-31 respectively...
You know anyone there who can pull strings? I have these other folks really spooled up on doing it...

they are trying to change the permits or what ever to add 100 more people. So if that happens you'll be in. Man, I've been just working and nothing else. I'm gonna die again.
