I would not even try to ride my 450 at Glamis with a knobby. Those smaller tires will prob just dig in. He might be alright around camp if you are in the washes but no duning.
BTW, I have a FREE paddle tire for a YZ85 or whatever else it fits. No wheel. I think it is 14"

Knobbys work on quads in sand if you air all of them down to 2 psi.
By Kawai 110 I assume you are talking the 2 wheeler,, and you'll definately need a sand paddle tire for that ride.

It'll help but won't make that big of a difference IMO.
Until you start haulin ass and getting faster bikes, is when it's required.
Used to ride a 125TRX all the time at Glamis and knobbies.... no problems with that little of power

I never used a paddle when I used to ride at ocitillo wells on my Tony Smith prepped KX-125. It seemed to much of a hassle to switch back to ride out at vaders durring the week. I never had any issues going up blowsand from a dead stop at the base. I needed one on my XR-600 though. I think weight has alot to do with it.

You better get one if you are camping in the sand.
