Looking to buy a 2750 or 2900 open bow Cuddy V bottom. I had a 26' V bottom and was wondering if this boat will be night and day difference in Saturday's chop at Havasu? They say a 525 will go around 80mph. Is this true? What other brands are better?

PM 909er He's got a sweet 2750 with an 496HO runs 70ish, and in big chop runs great... I dunno if he still has though... But worth it to ask...
Good Luck

Thanks for the info, but I need to know if it will be night and day difference in Saturday Chop at Havasu. My last boat was a 25' V Bottom 22 Degree. The Lavey is 27.5 V Bottom 24 Degree.

It will be a big difference. I've ridden in an Eliminator 25 Eagle, which I believe is a 22 degree bottom, through typical Saturday chop, and it was a huge difference compared to my Lavey. I have a 2750 closed bow that will do 90 mph and can run comfortably in most Havasu conditions.
The 2750 with a 525 will run 80 under ideal conditions, but expect mid to high 70's with gas, ice chest and crew. Lavey builds an outstanding boat and as stated in previous posts on this thread, you can talk to Chris or Jeff at Lavey about custom new builds or used Laveys for sale.

Contact 29 Lavey here on the forums if you are interested on getting into perhaps the best value in used hot boats today. He is selling a nearly new 29 with an Eikhart 850 engine for under $90K with all the bells and whistles...

Not only will both models handle Saturday Havasu chop very easily, LaveyCraft is the only west coast builder (that I am currently aware of) that invites their line-up into the ocean every year for a Catalina Run. :jawdrop:
Both the 2750 and the 29' are great handling boats and both models have won Factory-1 world championships under two different drivers.
Feel free to PM me if you want more details ... :D

Everything they make is awesome as of late, they also have a sweet SVL variant of the 27 with a full canopy with another version of the same in a poker run configuration.

I got a bad ass 29 Nuera for sale with an Eickert540/850hp and all custom parts and rigging throughout. Runs right at 100 and cruises at 75 at 4500rpm all day through any water. New one will run 180-200K easily and I am selling mine with 46 hours for 90K OBO. You can not go wrong with choosing a laveycraft boat. They are built exceptionally well and handle any type of water while running fast. Mine is vaccum bagged decolite construction. There is no difference in bottom between 2750 and 29 just a little longer boat. PM me if you have any questions or want more info on mine...good choice,,,thanks..

Never ridden in the 2750 but I'll say this. They're obviously well built and
great quality and you NEVER hear anyone say anything bad about their
boats. Oh, and I think the gelcoat is as good as anyone anywhere.

I have a 21XTSki but have ridden in the 27 back from Catalina one year. Full throttle the whole way. It was a pretty rough afternoon and the 2750 just ate it up. 70 mph with the 496HO, lots of room....good rep. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

My sister & Bro-Inlaw have a 2750... Well it IS a beautiful boat... honestly I don't think Havasu lets this boat shine!! This boat is MEANT to be out in the BIG BLUE!! I've ridden in it here in Havi, and honestly I think it chine walks alot... BUT then again it might have alot to do with the driver knowing how to use the 3ft trim tabs... at least that's what I've been told.
He has the 525 in it too... I don't he has EVER hit 80mph!! And its just my tiny 100lb sister and thier 20llb son on board!! But it still goes pretty quick... again might be a trim tab issue.. but I don't know about trim tabs we don't have any on our boat.
However he goes to Catalina & back aall the time and its like the darn thing knows what do do out there!!! Great ride forsure!

Before you buy ANY boat, drive that hull with the power you expect to use at the speed you expect to reach on the water you expect to boat on. That is the ONLY way to tell whether or not that model is right for YOU.
