You can try www.salary.com although i dont believe any of the sites are correct because there are so many variants that can go into a persons income. Especially someone like an engineer.

Which engineering field?
If Civil, go to the ASCE website. For the others, I would try their professional organizations website(ASME, IEEE etc).
Good Luck

And if Civil, factor in the falling workload from the housing decline.
