Trying to get a head start on next summer(I know we haven't had winter yet) was looking for advice on places to put trailers for the summer. What they have(ramps, stores, etc). Also the cost per month and any other fee's.
Thanks for the help.

I don't know about any of the other Parks but we keep a trailer at Crazy Horse usually 6 months April - October and it's $325 a month plus electricity
and they rape you on that @ anywhere from $50 -$100 a month.
Small store and good launch ramp most of the time Park is alittle on the rough side but we use it for the convienece no and no launch lines.

You should be able to get into Crazy Horse. I think they open up for new summer reservations in Feb. or March. Check though, don't take my word for it.
They have a ramp that is pretty good, a beach a small store a pool and some shower/bath facilities. Not a bad place and not too crowded even on big weekends.
Good luck

March 1st for new people and then just roll over a $200 deposit each year you plan on coming back to keep your space.
Make sure to call the first day of March in the am cause the monthly spots fill quickly.

That's right. Also, we are down on North Beach which is priced a little differently than what you posted, I believe...

I have a travel trailer at JDs off of hwy 95 on the north end and I pay $310 a month + electricity, but at that price you have to be there for at least a year

No. I just found out last week it is a senior park. I have been staying there for 3 months. I have two more years before I can get the senior discounts:D

I'm guessing RR was talking about the Islander. There is a 2 -3 year waiting list to get in there and they have a lot of "rules". Very nice place though, great ramp.

Have you tried the Beachcomber on the island? Has a ramp and slips. It is a little pricey though. But on the other hand, you will be next to site 6 so you will be close to the comedy:)

have summer spots at Black meadow landing,we are both reserved to 2010.I have thought of trying other spots, but the more I look the more I like black meadow.Never crowded, very family.Longest wait at the ramp is 2 minutes, only cause JB cant back up unless theres a sailor with chaps on standing on the ramp.Look into it,also when the holiday crazy weekend roll around,we never go north of black meadow to avoid the craziness.Pm me if you need to

There's the main space area (down closer to the water - max 500 yards away from the water) and the mesa/golf course area (farther walking-wise, but better views and larger spots) Most people have carts and can park the rigs - 28'+ boats plus trucks in the spots.
Ask them to fax you a map of the campground.
Make no mistake - rules rule!! If you phuch up once, you ca get tossed!! Hot button: Kids driving carts; rhinos-period; loudness after 10-10:30...you get the idea...
800 7 HAVASU is the number.
Good luck. I'm in G-64 from April to October!

IMO Islander is by far the best kept, as well as I dont ever worry about people stealing stuff from us. The waiting list for a full time 6 month spot is upwards of 5 years (I just checked into it in Oct). What we did was store our trailer in their outside storage, and then they would put our trailer on the spot every weekend when we came out. It ended up working out to be about the same in costs for the daily fees, however we saved a little bit on not having to pay electric. The only downside was that we werent able to put up an awning or have patio table/chairs. We made all of our reservationsin Feb for the whole summer and were able to get the exact same spot everytime, so when I came I knew where the trailer was at. The downside is they are strict about noise once the nighttime comes.
From what ive experienced about the rest (some may be minimal)
Black Meadows- I didnt like getting their from our house. It took an extra hour or so to get there, and its a little too far south for me (we like going up river)
Beach Combers- It was nice, not as well kept as Islander, but it was nice and they dont have the yahoo crowds there.
Crazy Horse - I completely hated this place. The workers are tweeker idiots, that dont give a flying fuk about their customers. The power down by the beach would constantly go out (when its 120 and our dog is in the trailer thats NOT good!). The crowds are good, as long as its not a holiday weekend. Then you can count on some chairs getting stolen, maybe find some one elses beer bottles on your boat, or some drunk asshole trying to fight you.

We have a place at Havasu Landing. Tried to get a spot in the campground for a buddy last spring. I was told they would put him on the list, maybe something would open up in a year or so.

I just called this week to get some info on renting a park model for the summer. I guess you would recomment the Islander? What's the parking situation like (boat trailer etc.)?

Im not sure about renting a park model. I know they are a little more. The parking depends on how the lot is situated and the size of your boat. (If i remember correctly you just got a F-26 right? We were always on a pull through spot and had plenty of room to keep the boat connected to the truck. Once we were in 202 and had to disconnect the truck because the hill behind us. If we were in the next row back it would have been fine because we could have backed the boat trailer enough to let the drive hang over and stop the trailer tires just as the hill went down. I believe all the park models are on NON-pull through spots (but dont quote me on it).

Thanks agian everyone for the insight. We have friends at the landing, not a bad spot but the dirt drives me crazy. If all else fails we will try and join them on that side. Someone needs to open more parks on the island, five year waiting list silly.
Thanks

That's what I did for my first season there just to make sure I liked it. Parking depends on the site, some have better access than others. I would see what places were available then go there and check them out to make sure parking would work for you. The place I rented fit my 28' boat, but it was a little tight.
I really like it there, I've never had a problem with any of the rules, if we are a little loud someone will come by & let you know to quiet down and all is OK. Never had a problem with theft or any of the employee's. Great family atmosphere also.
If you have any questions about the Islander, I would check into the Islander Trailer Trash thread in the test post forum section here on HB.

Yes, there are docks you can rent, they are not free. Not sure what they cost to rent for the month, but I think it's $18.00 per night to use.
The beach is free, but first come first serve. It gets pretty crowded by Friday afternoon during the Summer. Hard to count on this unless you are getting there Thursday night, Or have a friend that gets there early and nabs you a spot.;)

I guess I'll stick up for Crazy Horse. We have a Park Model there and absolutely love the place and the neighbors we have.
It does get crazy sometimes on big weekends but they do a good job of containing the obnoxious people that come in. They regularly boot people out that don't go by the rules.
There are power issues sometimes I understand but they haven't affected me. My neighbors in the Park models campled at Crazy Horse for many years and finally decided they'd just as soon have a permanent place there since they came so often.
Some of the guards and Maintenance staff are great guys when you get to know them. They come across like desert rats some times but they will bend over backwards to help you when they get to know you.
How many people ever thank them for the things that go well? Personally, I bring them donuts on occasion in the mornings and have given some Christmas gifts as well.
So, I'd recommend Crazy Horse to anyone that is looking for a campground to stay in.
Bill

Not sure about the docks.... As far as the beach goes, just bring down a paper plate with your spot number on it, post it on a free wooden post and its yours for the weekend, FREE! If you are parking on the beaches, dont go too far inside, because the sand turns to nasty mudd that will inevitably eat your sandals. I myself pull the boat out every night. (just me being anal.) I like to clean it, and even though no one has ever done anything as of yet, I dont want to be the first victim of plug pulling by someones teenagers just trying to have a good joke.
