PARIS (Thomson Financial) - An Airbus aircraft due to be delivered to customer Etihad Airways in the coming days was involved in a collision on the ground during engine testing yesterday afternoon.
The four engine A340-600 was involved in the collision at 5.00 pm Toulouse time, a spokeswoman for the EADS unit said. The aircraft was undergoing engine run-ups at the time.
Airbus did not say how the accident will affect its delivery schedule to Middle Eastern carrier Etihad.
The accident took place at Airbus's Saint-Martin site at Toulouse Blagnac, adjacent to the city's airport and recovery operations are still in progress.
Airbus confirmed that five of the nine people on board aircraft MSN 856 were injured; there were no fatalities.
Etihad Airways has four of the A340-600 aircraft on order.

classic comment... I'd venture a guess its gonna be late a few days ;)

The airline will fine the builder X number of dollars PER DAY for late delivery. That plane was contracted to be in the air, making money by a certain date. The dollar amount is staggering......Somebody's head is gonna roll.......MP
