Was offered a job at Volvo Aero in Sweden today. Would seriously consider it if didnt have a teenager. Plus know she would never be interested in going.

Might be fun in summer but isn't it dark like 20 hours per day there in winter?
(No wonder Swedes have the highest suicide rate!)

Congrats on the offer, even if you do not take the job, it is allways nice to be needed. :D

Thanks. Was definitely a tough decision to say "NO"
Think withy being out of the country for a certain amount of time you dont have to pay taxes.

Don't they have crazy work permit laws there, and different classes of citizens if you're not Swede? We've known two people who have told us about the crazy shiat the Swedes put foreigners thru.
Maybe we should be doing that here in the US?
Congrats on the offer :)

I'm not sure about any laws. Will have to ask a buddy of mine since he has been there.

I think it would be pretty cool to experience something like that, not many of us get opportunities like that.:)

Exactly why I had to really think about it.

I have no idea how any of that works. Would have had to really investigate it before headed over the pond.
You think the taxes are bad here? Just wait until you had to pay Swedish income tax.

Ouch.
It's 45-60% depending on where you live in Sweden.

Would definitely be an awesome experience. Guess the reason the pay is very high is because of the taxes.
There's a reason why Sweden is one of the greatest countries on Earth. ;) You do get the full benefit of their socialist system. They are an extremely fair country. You pay, you get.
