Trying to find some input on a navigation system. I am moving to Maryland from Utah next week and want to have one to help get around over there.
I want it to be around $200 or so.
It has to be portable, be able to move it from car to car.
Has to look good.
Has to be user friendly, the wife will be using it as well.
All help is appreciated:D

Garmin. I love my system. Its updatable with an SD slot, has a backup battery that lasts about 3 hours, easily moves from vehicle to vehicle. Models and options change so fast, so go find one for about $250 and have fun. Don't go get the biggest screen you can find, and don't buy a cheap crap model. You will regret it. The graphics are worse than a 4 year old with Crayons and the quality blows.

i just bought a MIO 230 from wal mart that works great i know its not the name GARMIN OR A TOMTOM but it has the text to speech feature that is cool it tells you the street name you need to turn on instead of just turn on next street, counts you down from 3 miles out for your exit on freeways i've had it for about 3 weeks now and have no complaints at all work great and it was $168 delivered to my door good luck

I have been looking and reading about those, real cool, but kind of buggy with the POI and how it routes you sometimes.

I have been looking and reading about those, real cool, but kind of buggy with the POI and how it routes you sometimes.
That's why I haven't purchased one as of yet. There were some 2100 with free lifetime traffic included for under $200. At that price, I'll just return it if the routing and POI issues are experienced.
I bought a MIO C310x for $160 at Circuit City and it's been fine. The locator takes a bit to fire up and the routing is sometimes weird, but I wanted something I could hack and mess with.

Hello:
We purchased a Garmin Nuvi 200---It has a big screen so it is easy to read and look at while driving SD Card Expandable.
It also has an awesome screen for the boat in terms of avg speed---top speed, and other speed related features.
Whats good about the model is the dual purpose ie... we like the speed functions for the boat and navigation for the truck.
Cost about $200.00 on sale.
Comes with suction mount for windshield or helm on the boat.
Hope you find this info. helpful.
Respectfully,
KAP
