Here you go- turn up the sound so you can hear the pilot adjusting the throttles in an A-6 landing.

I can't seem to get the vid, but I can tell you, there is nothing like taking the hook in the middle of the Arabian Sea!

A3 the largest carrier based aircraft.
Jet blast goes around the jet blast deflector.
Oh yea, flight deck watch in the middle of the night. The S-3's turbo fans spinning and clicking from the wind. Waves hitting the ship.
A-6 on the catapult. So loud almost makes you sick.
They would let us cat shot home but not recover.

I was never a pilot...but I was an avionics tech on the F/A-18s. Worked on the weapon release systems...it's funny how your first trip to the flight deck is just absolutely amazing...but that wears off in about 20 minutes. Once you've lived around it for awhile it just becomes a normal everyday part of life to you, but amazing to everyone else.
However I'm still amazed by the fact that our Navy pilots can land on a runway that appears to be moving sideways.

EA-6B even louder.
I was the AT flight deck troubleshooter on CV-64 for one WestPac back in 1980.
