Just came back from the group of old lower abandoned mineshafts at Jupiter, here in Havasu. We found a couple old mining camp remnants and found an old slab from some former structure. On the slab was carved the following two names "Colin McIntosh" and "Albert V. Kampff" and was dated 1827. http://***boat.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=44860&stc=1&d=1197245096
Anyone else see this before?
Oh...also accidentally disturbed a sleeping bat in one of the shafts too!

Where is that? I would love to seek that out and find it.

The Jupiter Mines are several miles up Standard Wash. Since there are no signs marking the fork in the wash where you take the left fork to get on the trail up to the mines, it's tough to describe. On the other hand, if you are familiar with the trail to the Jupiter Mines, once you get up there, take the left fork in the trail before you get to the top, to get to the second set of mine entrances where the slab sits. Tons of rusty old food and drink cans at the bottom of the ravine there.
