I'm sure it had nothing to do with his weight. Having a stroke at 45 is very unusual.
Kirby Puckett was a great baseball player and teammate. And he was a winner.

You are telling me !! And then Christopher Reeve's wife dies last night at the ripe old age of 44 of Lung Cancer and apparently never a smoker, WTF ??

KP was my next door neighbor here in scottsdale. This is very tragic and devestating to everyone. My three boys didn't know him for his baseball career, they knew him for how nice he was to them all the time. He was to be remarried soon to a very nice woman who had a son the same age as my middle son. If you watch the news everything his teammates say about him is true. He was always smiling and enjoyed life.
