Towards the end of Summer my housing cracked at the Springs  . Fortunately the shop by the restaurant had one in stock and lent me their tools to replace the bad one. If i had stopped somewhere in between i would have been SOL and needed a tow. I figure a billet one wouldnt crack like the cheap plastic one

are you referring to your seed pump with the rubber impeller that is directly connected to your out drive?

Both Imco and Jabsco make brass pumps. The housing never has to be changed and the only thing you change at the time of the service is the impeller. Imco's part number is WP-115

The jabsco pumps are very nice, we put them on most of our high performance applications, last i checked they were around $300,
the plastic ones are ok as well, you just have to understand that you can't torque the bolts down on them, they just need to be tight enough to seal the o-rings.

I have the KPM "run dry" water pumps...which have billet housings.
The downside to billet is the aluminum doesn't hold up well to sand- I've had pitting and scoring on the insides.
If you don't want to get stranded, you'll need to buy a boat with two motors.

The Jabsco pump is a great way to go. The part number for the Jabsco Pump is 43210-0001. The part has a list price of $402.73. I would suggest calling Boost Power. They usually have them in stock and are pretty reasonable. The only downside is that you will also have to buy a pully for the pump itself. Plan on spending about another $100.00-140.00 for the pulley.
Good Luck. :)

The housings are brass on my 377's . Another difference also is the impeller shaft , .It has a different # number for the impeller . There are two flat sides on the shaft instead of one .
