I am in the final stages for securing a deal with a mfg of a cellular based (data side) GPS locating device. the owner can locate their boat anytime and it can be activated when reported stolen.
It may be linked to a significant policy discount with two major insurance companies that insure hi po boats, Ace and Markel.
The kicker is that the cost should be under $600 and a monthly fee of $15 to $20. Owner options can include realtime tracking and vibration activation notification to your cellphone via text messaging. I do not believe this price point, basically free to some policy holders, has never been offered.
I know the industry. but I am looking for any constructive ideas from hi po boat owners. This locator can alos be installed on trucks and trailers.
The internal battery lasts between 30-120 days without a 12 volt source. This distribution plan would include oem boat builders too.
Thanks in advance
Keith
