Eek! now iss $5.19. Frikken robbery.
I am raising prices! :D
In Germany its over $8.00 a gallon for regular, I bet diesel is close to $10.00 a gallon there by now.
And the gov says there's low inflation... Ha, just wait till the transportation costs filter into the cost of goods.
How many gallons does it take to fill a big rig?

I'm a transportation manager for a bakery here in so cal, I will tell you that the rigs we use hold 95 gal's a side so that's 190 gals.
I use a wet hose truck to fuel the fleet at my yard and we are pumping at 3500 gal's a day. The first quarter of this year we have all ready put out $250.000 just for fuel. it won't be long before you are paying over $10.00 for that combo meal at you favorite fats food place.

$5.09 here. I'm annoyed.
One of the car companies needs a mini pickup or a work van that gets good mileage. Rangers and Toyotas are small, but the mileage isn't really that great.
They need a dodge neon sized mini truck or a work type HHR....I think they'd sell the crap out of something like that. I know they are in europe. I am thinking like an open back minicooper....

Cost me well over $170 to fill with an 1/8 tank still in it.

The price of fuel and gas will not come down. The oil company's now know you will pay what every they charge. People have not changed there driving habits.
You can see it on the freeways and even Rice road. People towing at 75 mph plus cars doing the same. I tow and drive my truck at 55 to 59 and picked up 5 mpg towing and 7 mpg driving add that up with a 50 gal tank of fuel. Unless you people change the demand it's just going to go up. And going to the lake or the river for a longer time sounds like a good idea but when you are running your boat all day at 70 mph plus what are you saving. Stop, think and slow down and float more.

The Big 'O'
The big "O", as in oil, soared upward last week and has taken center stage as investors' biggest worry. Oil has been a major concern for months, but the stock market was still able to put on a good rally. This changed last week perhaps because of how rapidly the price has risen recently or because it just reached a level that emotionally hit investors hard. Whatever the reason, we have to deal with it. Also weighing on investors' spirits last week was a worsening of the housing market recession and the release of the FOMC minutes. The Fed appeared to say no more interest rate cuts and a soft economy this year -- how's that for a one-two punch to the bull's jaw? The Fed cut 2008 GDP growth to a range of 0.3% - 1.2% and upped the jobless rate to 5.5% - 5.7%. The PCE rate (personal consumption expenditure) is now projected by the Fed at 2.2% - 2.4%. Well, welcome to the real world Fed Chairman Bernanke.
Two observations about the Fed's projection. First, all of this bad stuff is for this year. Second, for 2009 the Fed projects GDP in the 2% -- 3% range, which isn't bad (approximately 3% growth is considered the economy's normal potential.) As the market classically looks ahead some nine to 12 months, investors will soon focus on next year. We have had a ton of serious problems on the market's plate for more than a year. Everybody knows the problems, and the Fed has already taken dramatic action that probably will keep the economy from falling into a serious recession. That is, unless the price of oil reaches some unknowable level that knocks the pins out from under the fragile economy. Although oil prices look like a classic short-term bubble, we see little reason to call a top for oil at this time as it has become a media darling and the doomsayer's delight.
Yes, the big "O" is in control of the stock market at the moment, and that has to be respected. We believe most investors have accepted the reality that we will have to live with high oil prices. Fortunately, our service economy uses much less energy than our prior industrial economy used. Gasoline prices affect all of us, but sometime out there consumers will adjust. For the past several weeks, we have made cautionary comments such as "cool your jets a bit," "yes, there will be pain" and "we do not look for a one-way trip up for the stock market." However, we also did not anticipate oil prices rising as rapidly as they have lately. Last week our Market Commentary was titled "Accentuate the Positive," and we continue to believe that is good advice, but at the moment there are not a lot of positives in the current news. This will change. We will continue to take our lead from the message given by market action. The message today is to retain some buying power for future opportunities. For now, a continuation of the trading range market between 1,420 and 1,320 on the S&P 500 is likely. When least expected, the big "O" will get off investors' backs.

"slipping down a bit"...now that's funny.
It's all a grand evil plain...the oil Co's know we'll pay over $5 (because we did)I still am. So they'lll knock it down a few measly pennies and then club us for a even higher price before the next Holiday or what ever lame bs reason they want.
