I've been offered a position with a company that has a project in San Diego. I need to find out costs on Rent, utilities, fuel, etc...
I'm also interested in knowing what part of town the project is in. Evidently, it's a Casino that is being built down there right now.
Any info would be greatly apprectiated.

Wet Willie lives there so it must mean you need a lot of money to live there.

I live in SD. You wont find a studio apt for less than 900/mo. Gas? Forget it, ride a bike. Utilities? Bring a solar panel. Anymore questions? :rollside:

Cost of living here is one of the highest of all cities in the nation, but you can't beat the weather, beaches etc... The only thing that will force me out of here is the rising population.

yes the libs are little out of control up here.... plus I am outnumbered 100:1. :yuk: They just banned handguns in SF.
We have family in SD. Nice town. We love to visit, the beaches and TJ, etc. etc....
I was just checking real estate there..... holy shiat what in the hell is going on with Rancho Sante Fe. SD real estate values (http://www.dqnews.com/ZIPSDUT.shtm) serious ballers down there.
our median is just a tad bit higher ;)

For 500 here that will get you something in the hood (or a condo). Rancho Santa Fe is in a league of their own. I think I read that they had the highest housing values in the U.S. this past year. They were selling one place there for 33 million...
The other 1/2 grew up on the beach in Santa Cruz. Nice place but the people are a little out there.

My office was there for 15 years and a buddy of mine commutes every Monday and Thursday from Phoenix working as a contractor for Northrup. I think he got a decent studio or 1 bedroom apt up by Rancho Bernardo for $1000/month.
If you get past the housing part it's not all that bad really and certainly it's all relative to your income opportunity. The other stuff compared to Powell is really a nit in my opinion. Unless you have airplane I'd think the flights back and forth would be tiring. Page-Phoenix-SD each week?
If it's the same Valley View casino I thinking about it is north up and east of Escondido. Slightly out of the high rent distrct anyway. Check with Riverroyal I believe he is up that way in San Marcos.

You may want to look at Temecula for Valley View.
It is a little cheaper than San Diego, and everything is new. My brother lives there and likes it.
