I received a quote from pro system carburetion.$900.00 for the pair.If I get them done I would have to have another dyno session, $1000.00, to dial them in.I am not dissapointed the way they work now.Edge had his done at the carb shop. Hopefully he can tell me how much.Should I just wait or go for it? another 1900.00! I just took the engine off the dyno today.Jesels are all loosened up for hibernation. If somebody doesn't understand this post refer to the 572 HP obtained posting.Infomaniac, how expensive is a mechanical injection setup, similar to yours? Should I just hold off and wait till next winter?

I do not think you would need another dyno session. Any carb will act differently from the dyno to the lake. If you spend the bucks for another session you still probably need to attend to them anyway when you get to the lake.
Mechanical injection is 1,500 to 1,800. They are hard starting and idle very high. You can add a primer to fix the hard starting part but they also need gravity feed to the fuel pump. This means a "T" tank.

Thats not too bad,but I think I will stay where I am at.My friend just e-mailed me a pic of the pump gas dyno sheet.I am going to forward it to your e-mail.I need to wait and see what happens on the boat I guess.

Hey Del,Info........I still think the jetting is not right. That sounds more like the jetting on the blow through carbs.I have a blown 588 inch Chevy with #9377's(out of the box),running 12# boost with 94 jets square and it's actually a little rich. That's the closest motor to what you have that I hav ekowledge of.We run lots of 540's and 510's that run about the same jetting as the one I mentioned above.Something to think about......Hey Ron......I sell the Enderle birdcatcher complete with 110 pump, belt drive kit, shut off valve, lean out, spare jets, and jet carrier for $2150.Just FYI.......

Thanks Garry. I think his jetting is way off too but do not want to try and fix it via posting.
DEL51 Did they not hook up the flowrater? They used exhaust O2?

We know who you are dude. I have video and pics of your boat. Really cool ride.
I think he is correct about not over carbing so to speak. You can certainly over jet it though.
A blower gives a draw through carb an excellent vacuum signal, so it will meter fuel well.

One of my favorite motors out of my shop.....509 Chevy...420 B&M...Superchiller...Brodix 2+ by Yelvi....2 Nicherson 980 CFM 4150 flange Holley's...This thing will run low 9's at 118mph with 10# boost in a 780# Mirage jet hull(one of my old drag boats). It sounds like a fueler idling and except for the fuelers,it's probably the loudest boat out there.I guess I should lock out the advance so it won't surge so hard.

Garry That rig is one of my favorites also, cause it leaves like a V-Drive, and runs like a bat out of hell.

Hey J.D.......Happy New Year.......Well the Mirage outboard got to Havasu, but the nose of the left sponson was mangled.Driver has no idea.My guess is he jack knifed it.He double towed it behind another trailer most of the way.Probably tried to back up the whole rig.Surprisingly, the guy from Havasu still wanted the boat.He said his glass guy could fix it,I'll have to pay for it,of course.Hopefully,Wes's insurance will cover it.Oh well.....
