I live in Omaha,NE. We boat on the Missouri River mostly. There are a couple of area lakes, but none are very good size. What kind of boat do you have? It gets alittle rough on the weekends. Anyway welcome to Nebraska.

We boat on the River almost every weekend. The sandbars have been great to us. Your jet boat is going to be a rough ride! You make want to consider selling it before you get here, jet will be hard to sell in Omaha.

Mostly Baja, you will see Eliminator, Crowline, Rinker, Cobalt and few others. Most of the sand is up North of Omaha. We put in at Dodge Park and head North. Check out www.omahariverfront.com (http://www.omahariverfront.com) for some info and river shots. We have the smallest boat out of our group at 21 foot. We boat with friends that have: 38 Baja, 29 Baja, 26 Eliminator, 28 Power Quest to name a few. I know a few people that live on Beaver Lake. All we have for lakes close to Omaha are Beaver, Carter and Manawa. We are building on Carter, but the water level has been very low. Two bars on the river are the Anchor Inn and Cotton Wood. Sand bars were all over this year, water was low most of the summer. We have a decent boating scene and we try to make a trip up the river North to Decatur or Sioux City once a year.

Have you been on Beaver Lake on a nice weekend? It's like LOTO on a Saturday - It's been a while for me, maybe it's changed?

How'd ya guess? I've only seen beaver lake form the bank while working down there. But it didn't look that rough that day. It could have been a slow day though.

Southwood Shores Condos, good location nice rooms. Are you looking to eat out or make meals while you are there? It's perfect if you are going to do the cooking, full kitchens, washer/dryers. We went down in July for ten days and it was perfect, going back this July 19-28 for the same trip.

It's around $100 a night for a room that will sleep 8-10 I'll send the map to your email address of the resort and rooms. Hot spots are Top Siders Friday night, Shooters 21mm on Saturday and Salty Dog on Sunday. The place is littered with places to eat/drink, but those are the most popular during the weekend. Dock knockers 6mm, Horney Toad 8 mm, Captains Galley 30mm are a few other places to check out. You're going to love the place!

Thanks for the map eddie I'll call and make reservations I think it's to place we want to go too.
What's the weather like that time of year? ( from a human point of view ) Rather than the Weather channel point of view.

It's a crap shoot, we have had great weather over M Day weekend and other times it has rained. A few years ago we went to Walmart to buy sweatshirts. Other years it was sunny and warm. The water is colder this time of year and makes it a bit harder to jump right in.
Kalfran has a "bridge" and you have to drive thru to get to the back side of the boat slips. It's only like 9' wide, but our buddies 32 was sliped on that side because the water is calmer. It's padded on the sides and I don't think it's a big deal, but when you see it - it looks small. They will also require a two night deposit for a holiday weekend and you save a few bucks if you pay with cash/check.

Coup le of reason I am going back to Omaha, first is my whole family is there. second houseing and traffic etc is less trouble some. example, my pops bought a house over 3000 spuare feet in raven oak for less than 160,000 in cali that would buy me a shity condo. third is I finish school with hotel and restraunt mngt. and there a couplehotels that I want to look at , the new hilton ,convention center. plus I all ready work at embassy suits.
Oh my twin works at tires plus in bellvue just tell him you know me from the website and he'll try to hook you up. his name is alan

If the weather is right, it will be off the hook. It's risky, but if it's warm - it's where you want to be.

Jim Negative, he does hang around with our crowd from time to time. Eddie as in Little E, opposed to Big Ed Olsen. We have a Cobalt, hang around Hoyt, Sorenson, Olsen, Meade, etc. What size Baja? Im sure I've seen you on the river.

Well! I would still try the Banks system but when you do make sure you get the trans command unit. It's the best $230.00 I've spent get it even if you don't get the power system!
