Ok, here is my story.
Wife and I decided on refing our 2nd mortgage. Fill out the papers and turn them in. Wife gets a call saying there is a lien on our house for alimony and child support.
I've only been married once and still married. :argue:
My question is, how do I find out who has a lien on my house?

Should be able to get a copy through the country recorder/ county clerk.
All you need is an address.

I thought Alien was a girl with one arm and one leg......... :rollside:
Seriously, County Records office for the county the property is in. Use that computer and google it... They'll be able to tell you who, when and how much. You may have to jump through a few hoops for info, but it is your house. They'll be able to tell you.

I have a lein on my ex's house but I didn't put it ther, the DA did. Has your wife ever been married before an owes or owed child support? The Da won't send you a letter telling you of the lein either so you might want to contact them and ask.

Call the title company who is handling your loan. They'll have you fill out a statement of information & clear it up within a few days ;)

Wife was married before, but no kids and her husband was the sole provider.
Thanks, will do.
