I have to give credit...again, to Mike and Rex Marine ....I had a exhaust flapper blow out on my Edge last week ....The second one to have this happen in the 5 years I have owned this boat. These are warranteed by Rex and the last time I mailed the tip back in the off season and they fixed it..free of charge...I sent Mike a pm asking if there is any way to prevent this from happening in the future ....Without hesitation he said ..Yeah...We have just upgraded the flapper hinge in the tips and its now just about indestructable ...I will send you a set free and send me back the old ones when you switch them out....
For the record about 90% of all the rigging done on my boat since new was done with Rex parts ...and other than the tip none has failed ...Customer service, above and beyond the call...Thanks again Mike!

Now that you've got 2 boats and soon to be getting another you should be entitled to a volume discount :)

Well, I was at Rex on Friday, and I gotta say that they have some very helpful people there. Very nice store...and the video is a nice touch.

Thanx Brian, sorry you had the problem with the flappers. btw if anyone else has any problem with the no-burn flappers in our tips, please contact me and I will get you set up with the new HD Superflappers. They are pretty indestructable like Brian said, particularly in high HP apps, blowers, big cammed NA motors, etc. They are standard equip in all our tips now as of about a month ago.

I also replaced the clamps with constant torque clamps ...These will never loosen either...

http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/860DSCF0016-med.JPG Those clamps you are using are BAD ASS! I was using upgraded hose clamps on my car. At 25 psi I blew the intercooler piping off left and right. Picked up some clamps like those, a little bit different but pretty much the same thing and they NEVER came loose and I never blew another inter cooler pipe again. That was with 25 PSI of boost too! I STRONGLY recommend clamps like that for anyone that has a problem keeping stuff together. They are pricey but worth every penny.
