The first two are from Moorea and the second two from Bora Bora. We went there on our honeymoon this past June. Both islands are in French Polynesia in the south Pacific, where Tahiti is the biggest island. Very cool place, only thing we did wrong was plan TOO many things to do. Never had time to kick back on the beach for an afternoon. Oh well, the diving there was great too, lot's of sharks eek!

Craig I knew they were familar!!!! The wife and I went there last April.. Spent 4 days On Bora Bora in the Overwater Bungalows at the Le Meridien, and then spent 4 days on Moorea in the Overwater Bungalows at the Sheraton.... I'll have to post pictures when I get home tonight... We too had a great time, but also spent too much time with activities... The diving is awesome, black tip reef sharks everywhere. The beer sure was expensive! Did you go to Bloody Mary's on Bora Bora? We had a great time there our first night on the Island.

We stayed at the Beachcomber resort on both islands. Had a beachfront bungalow on Moorea and an over water on Bora Bora. Got to love the glass table that sees through to the water:D We did a 4X4 tour on Bora Bora that was a blast. Yeah there were lots of black tip sharks and then there were two 12' Lemon sharks cruising around as well. We'd like to go back summer after next!

thanks tina Tina, starting at the top, the first four pics are on the Island of Bora Bora at the Le Meridien Resort. The following three pics were at the Island of Moorea at the Sheraton Resort. Both these islands, as well as a few others are all located in the French Polynesia area (Tahiti) It's a 8 hour flight from LAX to Tahiti, then you board a "Puddle jumper" (Small aircraft)and it's another 45 minutes to Bora Bora. Moorea, is only about a 10 minute flight from Tahiti. There are many different resorts in that area of the world that offer the beach front as well as the overwater bungalows that we stayed in. Depending on how deep the water is(Further out from the land)the prices go up. A (Very)bit pricey, the bungalows we stayed in on Bora Bora, were $745/night! The one we stayed at on Moorea(Sheraton) was just a little less. There are much cheaper places you can stay at, which is what we'll probably do if we ever decide to return. Food and drink was also very expensive, due to the fact that everything that isn't grown or caught(fish) has to be flown in. For 8 days, we spent a total of $10K for the two of us. That included spending cash of about $2K. We went through a travel agent "Tahiti Legends" you can find them online. Ivan

Hey Ivan, we also used Tahiti Legends to book our trip. They treated us great. We were going to do the over water bungalows on both islands but decided to try the beach front on Moorea and then compare it to the overwater we had in Bora Bora. It's worth the extra $100 a night for the overwater! Before we left on the trip, we had heard that the French over there are rude to the Americans. From both hotels to the restaraunts, shops, dive instructors and transportation we never once experienced anything but friendly people. I'm glad I broke down and bouoght a digital camera with a 1 Gig card before the trip, I shot over 800 pic's :D

Craig, as far as the "French" went, during our stay on the Islands, I never experienced and problems or rudeness. However, upon arival in Tahiti, the French people that were on the same flight, were extremely RUDE, and would cut in line at any chance they had! We had one problem with a French waiter and manager at the Sheraton Resort on Moorea, and the wife went completely ballistic. We ended up getting a free dinner and breakfast at the Sheraton due to the problems we encountered. The only problem I had with Tahiti Legends, was their choice of Taxi service for us at Moorea. We had to wait for almost one hour, before they would take us to the Sheraton because they were waiting for another flight to come in, so that they could make one trip. That pissed me off, because we purposely took an earlier flight into Moorea, in order to be able to enjoy a full day. Did you by any chance get Pizza at "BEN'S" Pizza on Bora Bora? They owner, "Ben" was great. We got to talking, and he had lived in Calif for almost 20 years before moving to Bora Bora... Made quite a good pizza too. We also took the off-road trip on Bora Bora and got to see the cannons, it was well worth the time spent. As far as the locals, they were a great bunch of people! The beach front property there is totally awe inspiring. Wish I could have a beach front bungalow of my own. Ivan
