Well, I have finished my trailer rebuild. I did a complete update to it....disc brakes, tires/wheels, new wiring, led lights, paint, bunks/carpet, and some diamond plate. Here are a few pics....

Mandelon-It took me about a month and a half from start to finish. I was only working on it on the weekends, though. I did all the work myself except the install of the disc brakes (didn't have that much time). :D

Where did you get the discs and did you have to change to a bigger master cylinder? Dusty-I bought the discs from Nashvillebound here on the boards (Thanks, NB). I was able to use the same master cylinder with a couple of mods...the diaphram had to be enlarged and I had to add the bypass return line to the cap. Other than that it is the same.

Very, very nice.
I have some questions for you if you wouldn’t mind. I have an 11 y/o Competitive trailer that needs some work.
How did you strip off the old paint? Were the welds on your trailer molded? I’m concerned that if I sandblast mine it’ll ruin the molding work.
Is that a stock setup for the spare tire? Mine doesn’t have a spare.
Are the steps by the fenders factory or did you add them?
Is the jack factory or did you add it?
Thanks for any help you can give me. Again I want to say great job!

Thanks for any help you can give me. Again I want to say great job! Banshee-I didn't sandblast mine cuz of all the bondo that Competitive uses. I just sanded it and then painted it. The steps and fenders are not factory, the original ones were fiberglass and pretty much fell off, so I replaced them with the ones you see. The jack is original, however you can't get parts for them anymore, I was lucky enough to find an old guys that had some gears laying around in his shop, so I just replaced them. The spare tire bracket is just a bolt on one that I got from a trailer supply store. Hope that helps, feel free to PM me with any other questions.

Thanks buddy.
I would really like to sand blast mine down to bare metal. I think thats what it needs but I'm not sure what kind of a mess I'll have on my hands when I'm done.

Fantastic job on the whole thing, came out very nice, any before shots?
I really like the coiled wiring. Where could one find wiring like that? I would love to add a coiled pigtail just like that.
Thanks,
Akamatsu

If it's the same Cook which it should be, he ran a two man shop for years pumpin out trailers as fast as he could. He put alot of pride into making those things. Then he went on to race car trailers. Now he doesn't do the dirty work any more, he's running a trucking business. His names Frank Cook, he's been around forever.
Years ago he managed to pick up the original "Smoke On The Water", that boat ran at one time I believe 235mph. You could probably look that up somewhere. He still runs the boat with his own motor of course, just for weekend use.
