Anybody have the bose system in their car or truck. Just wondering how the speakers sound.
Think they would work in a boat?

Have a Bose system in our new Altima, sounds great.
Better than the upgraded "Mach 460" sys. in our Mustang GT

Think they would work in a boat? Are you talking indoor/outdoor speakers, or integrating a 12volt system from a car?

I have a pair of 901's in home, there great. I was on ebay looking for another set and noticed they use the same speakers in autos. thought I could use them with existing stereo in boat. they would be in the cabin

I wouldn't use Bose in a boat. They have midrange but no bass or highs. I would go with one of the more reputable brands like Infinity, JBL, Kicker, Focal, Rainbow, etc. You will be way happier in the long run.

I put in 4-6.5 in. marine Kickers and a 10 in. marine Kicker sub. in my 23.5 ft. day cruiser. I am driving them with 5-channel amp. The speakers sound unbelievable. It sounds better than most lux auto systems even in the open air. I think among true audiophiles Bose are not taken seriously. IMHO

I had the factory upgraded Bose system in my old Volvo C70. It's awesome. I did some research on ordering their systems for another car, they only sell their auto systems with new cars.

Today when buying a new fully loaded car/truck/SUV, you're stuck paying for Mach or Premier systems that add a bit to the price of the car. Don't get me wrong; Factory car stereos have come a long way and satisfy most people out there, but you get greater bang for your buck by going with quality aftermarket equiptment...There is a difference.
Factory Bose head unit from Nissan cost about 1500.00.... That's head unit only. Add the speakers and factory amplifiers(some have attached to each speaker), and you're close to 2900.00...You can buy a hell of a system for 3k.
Do what Rivercrazy said...
