He is a piece of shit!!
Something you folks probably don't know on the west coast is that he HATES boats that make any kind of speed. I have a place in Florida and he is making every god damn piece of water a fukking no wake zone. He donates alot of money to the cause. He is a manatee lover. I think he fuk's them?? I realize it's 5 o'clock somewhere and so I'll drink a cold one now.

I've been to many of his concerts, and will miss it this year for only the 4th time in 24 years. The real party is in the parking lot, the shows are fun, but be sure to hit the head on the way in! Report back next week...

He is a manatee lover. What's wrong with that, Manatee is great! You hunt them with your boat prop, then cook them over an open fire. Good eats! wink

So the fact that Buffet has a different perspective on an environmental issue somehow detracts from his talent as a musician? Hmmm, not sure I'm following the logic here...
Also, as powerboaters, I do think that we need to be somewhat sensitive to the needs of the environment around us or we will eventually destroy it and lose the ability to enjoy it. We have a section of a local lake that is closed during the spring to protect eagle nesting sights. It's no big deal, we just go somewhere else. There are still plenty of places to go and put the hammer down.

Damn DogHouse, you keep talkin like that and you're gonna end up joining the local cactus huggers! LOL I actually agrre with you (God I hate admitting that) I know Buffet is a big supporter of the environmental issues, many of which are unfriendly to the power boaters in Florida, but everybody has their right to support whatever charity they want, and Jmmy Buffets music is just way to much fun to cast out over how he donates his money, and he makes pretty good tequila too! My .02

Actually I did hug a saguaro cactus once, well more like stuck myself to the side of it as I crashed my mountain bike. Wasn't a very good idea. I wouldn't recommend it! eek!

RTJas :D I must agree! If you deep fry them they toughen up on you. ALWAYS grill Manatee over an open flame.

If you like to do fun things in your life, at least do one Jimmy Buffet concert parking lot party. Rent a MoHo if you don't own one, or contact me and go with me with my RV,,
Damm they're fun.
Nothing like them.

The wife and I will be at the show Thursday 25th in Mountain view (Bay Area). We will be parked in the closer area, priority or whatever they call it. Look for the big Hurricane Motorhome and stop by for a brew.

Cook the Manatee over a low flame. When the fat gets too hot it POPS and you could be burned by the flying fat.
C19? How many fish has your boat killed? Come on, lighten up. :D

To answer your questions though, I believe CS19 runs a jet boat. Hence his hostility on this topic. Jet boats are no good for hunting Manatee, or other large sea mammals. HOWEVER, Jets are great for chopping up smaller fish for tacos, or chumming the water to attract larger fish for the prop guys to hunt. wink :D

This kills me. He want to close the waterways but I am just wondering what kind of damage a Manatee would incur in a collision with Buffett's 32,000 pound Grumman Albatross sea plane. That plane lands at or about 105kts and takesoff is close if not faster to that same speed. Anybody care to do the math on that collision? Yes I know it does not have props but the keel on that thing is fairly sharp and at that weight and speed it does not make much difference. And yes, it does land on the intercoastal (Manatee habitat) as I have done it myself.
Typical.

Parrotheads in Paradise Inc. is saddened by the passing of Jimmy Buffett's Mom Mary Loraine (Peets). Peetsie passed away at 10pm last night (Thursday). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her scholarships, info to follow.
We have all been touched by Jimmy's music and as is with all sons and daughters, they have been touched and influenced by their Moms and Dads... In essance we have all been touched by Peetsie through Jimmy's love of his family and through his music. It is a sad day in the Parrot Head Nation and we are all praying for the Buffett Family.

Jimmy Buffet is also a supporter of the Bluewater Network. I would not give a dime to him!!! Like others said above he would like to see powerboats made illegal.
Think about who you are supporting!!
