Yep that sucks. We heard bad rumors about our track in Tulsa for a while. It had been leased for a lot of years but luckily somebody bought the land and fixed the track up so we should be safe for a while.

Its just whats happening to a famous drag strip here in Jersey. http://www.etownraceway.com/ The damn developers keep building houses closer and closer to the strip. Now these people who buy these 500 thousand dollar houses KNEW the strip was there when they bought the house. Now that they live there, they feel they can complain about the noise. They can only run top fuel a few times a year now. Its not only just a drag strip, they run monster trucks there, swap meets, motocross and car shows...

A similar thing happened in San Jose. Some houses were built under the flight path of the airport and everyone that moved in bitched about the noise. In this instance they did things right though, they moved everyone out and bulldozed the houses.

I grew up in Fremont CA home of Baylands raceway. The place held many world records due to the sea level altitude. They built houses right next to the place and within a couple of years the owners of said homes bitched enough to close the place :cry: The same people bitch when kids only have the street to race on

Maybe the only good side of eminent domain laws.

I also grew up in the Bay Area, and spent many nights a Fremont drag strip. It sure was a bummer when they closed it down. Its now called Auto Mall row. Oh well

We have lost numerous drag strips in So. Ca. and they wonder why street racing is still a huge problem.
