Reality check here ...saw last nights version where they make a sweeper out of Kyle Petty's Racecar for a(Budget) of $3500.00...
BullShit !!! wink I would like to see an actual breakdown of all costs incured as they really are..when they went to paint the car , he goes a tablespoon of Candy would work but hey lets put in an ounce,Have you priced that stuff!!!not including the Paint !! that's probably the$3500 alone...Get Real...Tell ya what,I got a rusted out '67 Camero .Want a challenge ? make it look like new for $3500.00 and ya got a deal....... idea

they never include the cost of painting in the 3k. It's only to make the car do what it needs to for 3k.

Plus they usually get a set of hi-dollar wheels for free also...

I noticed they didn't use the hinged front sweeper panels they worked so hard on.

I'm looking forward to the wheelstanding ambulance next week. You know that will end up with some sick 20+" freebie wheels on it. :D

BullShit !!! I would like to see an actual breakdown of all costs incured as they really are.. Who cares! That show is the coolest on T.V. right now. It aint about the money, it's about the fabrication, and the timeline.
Having Tom Pruitt paint your car would be well in excess of the $3500.00 without the cost of materials. And how about those materials...that car looked bad-ass when it was done.
The fire truck limosine was my favorite episode until last night... :)

and if you want to get really technical, they didn't include the cost of the sheet aluminum, the roller bearings, any of the other material that went into the curb sweepers, the steel braided line, the an fittings, having KP's crew help out. That was a very impressive episode and I'm not a big nascar fan. $3,000,000 in tires alone in a season????
as 1stepcloser said, who cares, it's the coolest show on TV right now (although Joe Millionaire may be making a run at it. :D :D :D )

I'm not raggin' on the shows themes , just they could be a little more up front with the costs , ya know kinda like having Super Chevy do an engine build and say they do it for $2000 ...you start to price out and Walllla it's over $5000 eek!
I am quite the ( Shadetree mechanic myself ) so I do like the show and how they Southern Engineer to get the job done wink

The base vehicle isn't figured in to the price either... figure around $100,000 for the car last night... That's it, I'm not watching it anymore. Back to MacGyver reruns. He can weld with a nickel and some jumper cables. :D :D :D That is my kind of reality show.

Did you guys notice how the guys from Petty Ent. had to step in and help the team out with fabrication?
Being an EMT I cant wait for the next show when they make an ambulance do a wheelie.

I'm thinking B.A. got shot, just a nick in the arm, in one episode, but that was the only one. They did have some bad ass hardware in that show. AC-556 (Auto version of the Mini-14) with the factory folding stocks... very sweet, and I'm not a big Ruger fan. :D

Does anybody know the background on Jesse? I mean like where he's from and what not. Some friends of mine are saying its the same guy that we used to hang out with and lived by.He kinda looks like a guy I knew for some time but cant tell. Some day I would like to check out his shop, maybe Ill ask some questions when Im there. If its really the Jesse James that I knew from 15 years ago or so he's lost some weight and still owes me 100 bucks!! He was really big into VW's,busses mainly.
I might be getting my 100 skins.....I'll be rich!! :D
