While I did not know the owner of this boat, I do know the boat and the story behind the fire:
The blue boat and the orange boat were taking a test trip on Castaic last year in preparation of a road trip they were about to go on together. Long Over Due used to be owned by a guy I knew, and he sold to the guy in the picture. Evidently, the new guy spent alot of oney on dialing the boat in from top to bottom. I guess he didn't check the fuel line...Don't try this at home! http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/951lod1-med.jpg

I hate seeing this happen to any boat, especially a Campbell!

Thank you booser thasnk you very much.
this is a 1947 22'-6" Gar Wood sedan cruiser. It never made it to production because the cabin was to expensive to produce and stay competative in price! So there is only This one boat in existance if it still is around even!
I have a few old motorboat and powerboat books that date from 1917 to 2003 I also have a few books with boat plans that date from 1900's to 1950's. Have you herd of Atkins or John L Hacker? They are 2 of the boat designers that I have in these books!
I tried to use the lines off this boat to design the windscreen on the aluminum cat that I am currently building! I have a woppoing 3 truss' built. Just taking my time and doing it rite!
So How you been doing Boozer? Good I hope!

Hey jlnorthrup122,
I saw the picture of the old Garwood boat I didn't know if you have ever been to the boat show in Lake Tahoe It's this month. If you are intrested in going I can find out when it is. I have been 2 times and all of the old classics are there. It's at north shore at Sierra boat works on the water. About 150 boats from 1900's-1950's ...SB
