hey there,
not much - just seems that there are so many americans on here and very few of us canadian wonder people!!!
how's the weather up north kim? It is mighty warm here - but such an awful heat - way to dry, i'm used to the okanagan where it's at least got some moisture to it...
when are ya ever coming down this way, it would be really neat to meet you in person - been trying to do some camping at sylvan lake, but they are full every weekend - it's hard getting used to all this suburbia....

I'm here too. Not many here, cause they're over on the "www.hotsled.com" site. Where do you live? You need to come for a rip up the Upper Red Deer River.

This one is $ 29,000.......( . )( . )...... eek! wink http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/72outlaw2.jpg That ones a 23' boat. You'd be baoting alone on the Upper Red Deer real fast after we pushed you off the first gravel bar!! You're right, they are a lot of money. I look at it like this - I have lake boat freinds and they put on 10 - 20 hrs per season if they are lucky. And out of that time, if they actualy have a VERY nice day that they get their boat out on Sylvan Lake, then that's a bonus. Us guys get about 100 hrs per season and we don't need to have a nice day to enjoy a boat ride, cause we are boating, not floating around waiting for the cops to come over and shack us down. And the kicker is, if it's real nice out and the lake guys are out there, I can put my boat on the lake for the day. And that's when the real fun kicks in. Kicking them lake boats that go 80 mph but it is always amusing that we fly by them at 65 mph and leave them in the spray at 90 mph. It seems like nobody owns a GPS on the lake!!
- $25,000 by 100 hrs = 250/hr
- $9000 by 20 hrs = 450/hr
Just my spin on it. wink

The 16's with the sport-jet are a lot of fun for the skinny rivers and creeks, but you suffer on a lake. They area step-hull and GPS at 62-64 mph and are a real blast. They'll run down the Upper Red at full throttle and turn on a dime. The other boat is a 16' sport with a V-bottom and a ford small block if it's still rigged the same as it was the last time I seen it. It is an older boat that's been about everywhere. New Zealand, Mexico, NWT and Alberta. It would run mid 60's I'd guess. Your best bet would be, is come on down and come for a ride with us some day and see if river boating is for you or not. I know of several 19' step-techs with the ZZ4 for sale in the mid 20's. I know of a 19' sport with a windshield for mid/low 20's. Nice boat. That's a boat you can run river in and feel good on a lake in too. Let me know if you ever get down to Red Deer and we'll go for a run. There is usualy several different types of boats that show up, so you can ride in all of them and get a real feel for each boat.
PS - BRING BEER. :D

I stand corrected - I thought that it was a V-hull. Sunny bunny - go to Eagle racing and check out the media section, to see the type of boating we do. WAY TO MUCH FUN.
Kim - I would think that Outlaw would take 15500 for that boat. The owner is building a new hunting boat and would like the money I bet.

that is sooo cool jb - do you guys do that in red deer?? where about's?? do you have a schedule of races?? We play on the Lower Red Deer, Upper Red Deer river, North Sask (Nordegg), Brazeau rivers. The Upper Red is the best. That's where the beavers dams and ledges are. We put in on the reserviour and run up to Sundre or further. It's very braided river and lots of fun and no cops, ever. The next race is the World Championship race. It's in Whitecourt this year on Aug 16 - 23. The races held in between 4 countries, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Mexico. Next year it's the USA. Here's a photo of one of the legs in Mexico last November.

Check out www.jetboatracing.com (http://www.jetboatracing.com) for more info. Jesse is from Oregon, I believe and they have some links on his site. And you're right, it is fun. After doing this, you'll wounder why you ever sat around on a lake for all those hours.

well we have white water rivers all over here in CO. I just wonder what the wildlife service would think if they seen some maniac going 65 up the eagle river in a jetboat.

I know that in the northwest the tree huggers and single interest groups have succesfully got most of the rivers shut down from power boat use during most times of the year. It's the old bullshit - Use the river like I do or don't use it. Fishing & rafting guides and tree huggers are the most selfish pricks that we have to deal with.
